Kurogaya

Hey guys! It's me again, with "Bandori! 30 Day Challenge"! Let's go!

Day 3: Favorite PoPiPa song!

There are so many songs I love from Poppin'Party, since they are my favorite band, but let's talk about only two here; an original and a cover.

My favorite song between all the PoPiPa musics used to be "Hachigatsu no If" (If In August), but I'm really into STAR BEAT! ~ Hoshi no Kodou ~ now. After hearing A LOT, I now prefer Star Beat. So, sorry Hachigatsu, but you're not my favorite anymore...

[WARNING!!! BANG DREAM!'S SEASON 1 AND 2 SPOILERS ABOVE!]

But why did I changed my opinion? First of all, the rhythm sounds better for me. And also, we have to talk about its lyrics. Oh God, Kou Nakamura really worked here. We can see the passion on his words, and also how beautiful it is, and also the story that is being told (someone who is chasing your dreams but cannot do it alone, so is looking for another one to fullfill their wishes). And obviously, the importance this song had on PoPiPa's members. This song made Saya being able to be honest about her feelings and desires and made her join the band, and also remembered Tae that PoPiPa is her place and there she would stay. Seriously, this music makes me cry everytime I hear it. It's a marvelous song, and my third favorite in the franchise!

Honorable Mentions:

  • Hachigatsu no if (If in August): Well, I still like this song a lot! I like how the lyrics have the feeling of a romantic song, and I really like the Kasumi/Saya duet on this.
  • Returns - The best way to end the second season, with a meaningful lyric and describing Tae's journey during the episodes. Even not being as good as it should be, I still liked Tae being the center of the story this time, and this music ended perfectly well with her "arc".

Now, thinking about covers, I would say my favorite is Glamorous Sky. It has a good rhythm, powerful voice (something uncommon considering that Kasumi singed) and the instrumental is very original at the same time is according to the source. I know Aimi's voice does not looks like Mika Nakashima's, but I really do love this song, and I think the cover is better than the original. A shame it does not have a complete version. :(

Honorable Mentions:

  • Hikaru Nara: seriously, Bandori??? I didn't believed they made a cover from some of my favorite animes, and chose THIS song. It was my first cover song in the shop, and I do not regret. I love Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) and Hikaru Nara a lot! ♡
  • Senbonzakura: I preferred this song than the original because of the instruments: everything seems more vivid and real, and not only some Vocaloid song. It is really good and exciting (and hard... Help)!

Thanks for reading! See you all tomorrow! ;)
