I recently started rewatching Code Geass and you know what I realized that I didn’t realize when I first watched in however many years ago?

Shirley’s death wasn’t sad and it was all her dumbass fault.

She could’ve stayed her behind in the car but instead she ran in because she ‘wanted to help Lelouch’ or ‘she doesn’t want to leave him alone’ or whatever some bull. Like, WHAT CAN YOU DO GIRL!? WHAT CAN YOU DO!? NAME ONE SINGULAR THING THAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP THAT BKY OVERTHROW NOT JUST A GOVERNMENT BUT A WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY!?

And then she meets up with Rolo and starts spouting this ‘I love Lulu! I want to help protect him!’ Again, HOW!!? She can’t even cook without falling on her ass and she wants to get into a Knightmare!? Like, what, GIRL EXCUSE ME!

The only reason I have ever shed even a fraction of a tear at that scene is because the music during that part is a beautiful work of art.

No, Shirley was killed by Shirley because Shirley didn’t stay HER GODDAMN ASS IN THE GODDAMN CAR!

Rewatching has also reinforced my hatred of Nina and reinvigorated my love for Jeremiah Gottwald, the man whose loyalty knows no bounds. Thanks for listening to my Rant Talk.
